The CDC predicted that if things did not change one and every two black gay men like myself would become HIV positive in our lifetime. And yet there are still people in the Mississippi River Delta showing up in ERs with end stage AIDS symptoms and only living for a couple of weeks before they die. These are people who've just never seen a doctor and they've been discarded by the society in all kinds of ways already.
