The Future of Virtual Economy
Valve gets to double and triple dip on all of this. It's impossible to talk about virtual economies without talking about EVE Online, the richest and most complex in-game economy that's ever been created. This is where it gets interesting because they have so much control over their economy. The game design almost requires a division of labor, which leads to social play. By constraining resources, the game invites conflict.
