How Did the Romans Lose Every Decisive Battle in the War?

Both Roman commanders and the bulk of the legions in Spain laid dead. Five years of careful campaigning had been for naught. The Romans sent Marcus Claudius Marcellus to reinforce the two legions already stationed on the island, at the time of Hyrule's death. These numbers included the survivors of Canny, who were forced to serve an exile in Sicily without leave or any hope at all, really, of returning home.
