This method of trading has been around essentially as long as futures contracts have been around. DBMF is one of the first funds to try to create a kind of index fund for this sphere. It's doing things like it is short interest rates, US treasuries and Japanese yen. And so it was riding that whole trend being short those bonds or interest rates in 2013.
