The Soundscape of Coral Reefs

The soundscape of these ecosystems is, in a sense, determining their ability to attract the next generation of fish. And that was quite an important discovery because it put reef sound on the map as an important part of the functioning of the ecosystem. Do they, you know, do all reefs sound the same? Or do different reefs in different places sound different? How does it vary through time? Does a reef at night sound different to a reef in the daytime? And to what extent are fish able to tell the difference between different reefs?
