Eugene jocqk bullard was a black American who left the united states in the late nineteenth century to seek his fortune abroad. He became one of the biggest entertainment figures in imperial moscow on terms of popular music, movies and restaurants. His parents had been slaves but fought off an attempt by a rich white planter to steal their farm from them. They went north before the great migration began when hundreds of thousands of black people sought opportunity in the north.
