Learning How to Be in Your Own Company
I think the key of friendships is that things take time. I chose to spend a lot of time alone as a junior and to sit in the discomfort of being physically alone, taking meals in college alone just so I can make space for the people that I knew were coming. For me, that process took a year, but it could be longer or shorter depending on how big the call is, how much you want to change in your life. So realizing that the process is necessary, it's hard, it's uncomfortable, and it means you might have to sit alone for a while.
