Germany's airline Lufthansa has announced further cuts to its fleet and workforce of $1.3 billion in payment that also will be taken on idly aircraft. The German carrier posted a record loss of $8 billion in 2020, then ground many of its planes. Some staff at Germany's largest airline have begun a strike which has forced the company to cancel over a thousand flights.
