The Insidious Nature of Hypocrisy

I don't think anyone really is ever setting out to be hypocritical. The very nature of hypocrisy is deceptive even to yourself. And this is the problem with the Pharisees that they were not only blind to who God is, but they become blind to who they were. So that Pharisee in Luke 18, he didn't realize his own need for redemption. He wasn't even seeing the problem. Those who are most caught in it are the most blind to it. They think there's not a problem.
