You Can Actually Influence the Metaphor
David Frum: We are so much more creatures of our imagination than we like to think we are. He says the metaphor idea is a window, if you will, into the motives and the means of action that we use. Some people have an intrinsic value in money, he says; they see it as gold or silver. That's one system which can influence financial decision-making for them. But other systems cause us to make decisions based on image rather than reality.
