The Invisible Eclipses
Invisible lunar eclipses are the first instance of such an insertion, but they are far from the last. Neptune was discovered because astronomers had noticed an anomaly in Uranus' orbit. In particle physics, physicists hypothesized that there was an extra new and undetected particle that carried away missing momentum. But Babylonian astronomy does not actually have much to say on the subject of solar eclipses.
