We need the biggest, high est, single thing we can imagine. As soon as we have any sense of ideal, we then compare ourselves against it. I think there's actually something surprisingly liberating about having truly long term plans - which call ten plus years. Part of the magic is that you don't have to know how you'll achieve them. You keep the horizonn our sight line and all you really need to worry about right now is what's the next step? What is the next step that can at least move me in that direction? So i am directionally correct?
This week I am welcoming Dorie Clark, leadership consultant and author of the book The Long Game: How to be a long-term thinker in a short-term world to the What's Essential podcast.
Dorie offers her insight into how we can stop making short-term choices that lead us away from who we want to be and start making long-term choices that give us space to dream, plan, and live.
