Mattel was a new kid on the block as well. They were founded in January of 1945 out on the West Coast. Elliot Handler, he's running Mattel, he's a co-founder. He says, we're going to make die cast toy cars for boys. And it turned out that Elliot Handler was right. The cars that Mattel created were a huge success.
