The Islamic View of Homosexuality

Life in the West is becoming increasingly difficult for Muslims, I do not need to tell you that. This matter is being held up as the key to integration of Muslims into Western culture. Such an expectation reveals a new authoritarianism and a more than a whiff of neo-colonialism at the heart of so-called modern liberal thought. Although homosexuality is forbidden in Islam, we must avoid condemning or rejecting individuals. We are all sons and daughters of Adam. It is quite possible to disagree with a person's behaviour, whether private or public, whilst respecting that person as an individual. So what is the Islamic view of homosexuality? There are a lot of misconceptions about what Islam teaches about this.
