The Pros and Cons of Private Equity
An interesting one in that list as well is private prisons. A lot of private prisons are owned by these real estate investment trusts. So you can you can invest directly in a REIT that owns private prisons and get some dividends from the carceral state to add to your portfolio of investments. It's not as though you're investing directly in the prison operator or something like GEO Group, you're investing in a slate of prison real estate. And I think this creates a lot of incentives to create keep the market as such constantly stable and healthy and moving upward.
