In Kenya people needed to be able to go to a pharmacy and know that they would get safe medication half of people their first interface with the health system is in the pharmacies. 30 percent of the medications dispensed are fake or placebo or misprescribed so even if you get your child diagnosed they have a one third chance of getting sick or getting better from this medication, he says. In Sydney we initially brought 50 different opportunities to companies thinking we were being helpful but what we really learned is to focus on the needle moving interventions.
