Marriage has to do with something else, otherwise the word marriage wouldn't mean anything. The purpose of really living with somebody and sharing your life with somebody is to build something lasting. And so you get that longevity of view, which i think helps to mature you. But you also get the opportunity to become more fully fledged as a psychological being,. I think that's furthered as well.
