The School and the Welfare Initiatives in the Schools
Schools had always been sites of welfare so individual teachers have had always been a source of welfare to individual pupils then you get the new liberal forms before the first world war. The legislation which introduces things like school meals and medical inspections, it means that by the interwar period welfare was becoming one of the school's primary and formal functions. I found those details really interesting kind of just you can imagine sort of conversations and all sorts of relationships that would have um but necessary for those things to manifest themselves in the evidence we can see.
