The Legacy of Billy Bean in Baseball
Michael Lewis' 2003 book about the Oakland A's, "Moneyball," is still a good introduction to saber metrics. It was written with Billy Bean at the heart of it and he hasn't got much flack for what's going on right now. But I wonder if we would be in this position today if Moneyball had not been so successful.
