What Are the Sources of the Chinese National Archives?
For most of the research and the writing of any papers, i was really on my own. There will be lots of instances where i'm describing people, but i'm not actually using their names. And that's because those were all classified files that i was able to quote from. But i had to am make sure that nobody could identify these people, because many of them are actually still alive. I used chinese archives. The swiss national archives granted me special permission to look at tens of thousands of files that are still classified to day a. Ein other countries, it was really tricky cause, again, once they've been classified for 30 or 50 years., she says.
