In 1980 when you're hired at Sloan, there's this managerial communication curriculum. The original idea came from a study that was done of a bunch of cohorts of graduates. And one of the things that emerged from that is that they felt they needed better writing skills. Within a few years, it was clear that oral presentation was a critical factor too.
