"I wrote the donkey beaters story to be that way in order to make sure that people have a way to differentiate who does what to whom," he says. "It's basically the same thing as a donkey story, but instead of being a donkey, it's a person's wife." He adds: "The mechanics of the story work well for getting that kind of grammar"
