Could an Asteroid Hit Slowly Kill Us?
Any asteroid that hits us is going to be coming in pretty fast, because the earth's gravity pulls it in and s going to pick up speed. You might imagine another scenario where a rock comes near the earth and has a negative velocity, like the earth is catching up to it but it's running away. But that's even more unlikely. The earth would have to sneak up on this, right? It it's less likely, but much cooler to think. And after this, i'l have to go wright some code to simulate this seti work, but that's my instinct.
