Job reacts to this in a way that we might well expect, except, of course, that he's way more patient than most of us would be. We know his friends begin to wear him down, and his patience wears then, because he is in such terrible, terrible pain. And so there's this complex interaction between job humanity, because he's not christ, he's not perfect. He's not blameless in the final, abstract sense. So he can't ultimately do the fulfil the role that he's being placed in, allegorically, in some way. I am going to read to you one of the most remarkable passages of that is chapter 19.
