For the first two decades of the post-war era, there was no sign of this problem, really. It's about 65. We've seen a revolution in the family. About one in seven adult men now has a felony conviction in its background. This is hugely different from other rich countries. The US government seems absolutely disinterested in putting together any statistical information on the 20 plus million invisible ex-cons in our country. They're under this cloak of invisibility which makes it very difficult for anybody who wants positively to try to get them reintegrated into the workforce or society.
