Erney smith, i'm a writer and editor. I write a news letter called thiti on the dulci o the internet. Erne says there were five key technologies that made poam based customer support possible. The first touchstone dialing came about in the sixties but rotary dialing was still pretty common into the 19 eighties. Tushtun dioline was a really big one. It took a couple of decades to become common. Things that look we don't even think about becoming common over time, seem like they just appeared one day. A good example is like the credic currt, the magnetic strip, did not appear until the eighties
