Introduction
Jericho brown is an associate professor and the director of the creative writing programme at emery university. We recorded our conversation on stage at the two thousand eighteen geraldine r dodge festival, where we were introduced by martin farwell sough. i think one thing that i love about being a poet is that i know that i was prepared for it in every way possible - growing up in a black church. The ability to imagine some one else's inner life is where compassion begins. And he said, we could certainly use more of that nowadays....
