Is Valuation a Good Metric?

It's certainly rare to create a very large, successful company without material capital being raised. So what about the valuations that are then implied by those venture capital rounds? Particularly as we get to series B, series C fundraisers and you can extrapolate the valuations or the apparent valuations of those companies based on the new investment. Nick: I don't think fundraising and valuation are necessarily great proxies for understanding how successful a company is.
