How Sergeant Rick Gough Contacted the Northport Police Department
Denise's father, a 25 year veteran of the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, called his son-in-law Nate to tell him that Denise was missing. Sergeant Gough immediately contacted the Northport Police Department and told them they needed helicopters and dogs out in the area right away. Detective Chris Morales found no signs of forced entry or any kind of struggle inside the house. The couple's two young sons appeared to be unharmed.
