The Evolution of Axolotls

There are no unique tree genes, in quotes. It's just a different expression of genes that plants already use. The trend of staying in an earlier stage of development is called neotonising. Axolotls are an example in animals. They resemble the juvenile stages of the closely related tiger salamander. Did you know very rarely, or when exposed to hormone affecting substances, axolotls grow up into something that looks a lot like a tigersalamander? Not unlike the gene-altered Arabidopsis.
