The Meaning of a Book

The post modernists were grappling with this, as well as with many other ideas that i think contaminated their thinking. And their conclusion was, well, you can't extract out a canonical meaning from a text. It's so dependent on the situation that to say the text has a interpretable meaning is actually an error.
