The Importance of Empathy
Shan: When we are feeling empathy, like when we witness something happening to others, it's actually activating the same neural pathways in our brains as if we were experiencing that stuff ourselves. She says research shows people with anti social personality disorders can consciously choose to behave in social ways and still feel good about doing so. Shan: I think everyone is for some sense of desensitization or fetidness because we're just, we're all fetid at the time. It's hard to have that deep-seated empathy over and over and you know, especially if you feel like my country isn't helping me anymore.
