Is Game Theory a Necessity in Computer Science?

i have a computer science background, so in my undergraduate degree, i got a good education in data structures and algorithms. But even if you w look at the intersection of economics and computer science, then you definitely need some game theory as a foundation for your work. People with no introduction to game theory often have an wrong idea about it. They think it has something to do with board games or video games, which i guess, in a sense, it does. It is really about modelling interactions between economic agents and, in general, decision agent. If decision agents are al gardums, then game theory needs to deal with those decisions as well.
