How to Teach a Beginner's Mind
I think that the same urge that motivates a developer to write code in the first place, they're to solve a problem. And if they are sharing that code out in the world, it's because they care about other developers solving problems as well. One of the things I've run into with developers writing for other developers is that they often have an expert blindness and that they can't get the beginner mind. Knowing that there's a problem is always the first step. But when I worked on Kubernetes, it was how can I reduce the complexity of this product into a way that you can understand and immediately apply in use?
