Is There a Recession in Consumer Spending?

How do you expect rising inflation, slowing economic growth and growing recession concerns to effect discretionary consumer spending? I wish i knew crystal bowl. There isn't an analogy in history for this moment in time, as is much discussed. We think big ticket items, a new car, ad ew t v, in the discretionary spend, intend to get hit first, and small ticket items get consumers tend to protect.
