How to Correct an Oppositional Defiant Child
When you're communicating to an oppositional defiant child, what you really want to do is not go after why they did something. You need to use that same technique for your child that's respectful, not one of authority. Don't throw everything at them. They need to understand that they have to take responsibility for their actions. Also, give up the need to control. Once you try to control your child's behavior and choices, we actually gain a lot of power in our mind.
