Teenage years are a period of incredible social change. A lot of the British education system was introduced before we knew anything about how the brain develops or even how the mind develops particularly in teenagers but also in children. The way that we educate young people comes into conflict with what we understand about what's happening in their brainsYeah I think again going kind of looking at it from a historical perspective um  I often do GCSEs GCSEs were brought in as part of an experiment to see if they would help students develop more effectively and so on.
