i think bismarck understood something which, let us say darwin or clerk maxwell didn't need to adsomething about the public medium in which he acted. And he understood it in the way sculptors understand stone or clay. But his theories to day are nothing but a sad, huge, oddly shaped buscle in the stream of knowledge,. A kind of curiosity in a museum. Whereas if i may return to him again, because i think he is perhaps the most successful of all statesmen in the nineteenth century. What bismrck did his policies are alas only too potent amongst us.
