For most illnesses genes don't play any kind of determinant role and nobody's ever discovered any gene for any mental health disorder that if you have this gene you're going to have this disease. For the most mental health conditions there's no single gene but they are where they for ever sensitivity there's just a large group of genes which make them more sensitive than others. So the more sensitive you are the more creative you're going be but you're also at higher risk if the conditions are not right because you've been more hurt.
