Athens and the Athenians

Aristogoris, who had been turned out of sparta by cleomenes, arrived in athens. He appeared before the people and made a speech about all the good things to be found in persian methods of warfare. Apparently it's easier to impose upon a crowd than upon an individual. The sailing of this fleet was the beginning of trouble, not only for greece, but for other peoples. That's the moment when the athenians essentially give in.
