The Importance of Descriptive Code

I am definitely in favor of imperative code. I prefer code to... I like the idea of information hiding. Essentially every function is declarative because you're hiding implementation details behind a name that's descriptive of what will happen, not how it happens. At that level, I like declarative. But I like to be able to see things so that there is no magic. So there's no guesswork.
