The Importance of Trialing Treatments for Long COVID
What triggers long COVID for you might not be what sets it off for another. Yale University is running a randomized controlled trial to investigate whether Pfizer's antiviral drug Paxlavid could actually help treat long COVID. Other ongoing trials target alternative mechanisms such as low-dose naltrexone and Riveyraxaban, which are being tested on microclots in the blood. If successful, research could shed light on other chronic illnesses like ME-CFS that can't be cured by conventional treatments.
