The Politics of Geology Is Destiny
There's a very tight correlation between labor voting constituencies and rocks beneath your feet, which are about 330 million years old. And the chain of cause and effect here is slightly shorter. If I tell you that the chapter on earth history, 330 million years ago when those rocks were created, was the carboniferous. So these are the coal fields of Britain. But if at next year's election, all these areas turn Republican, does that undermine any of this theory? Well, there's a line of causation that explains that particular political feature.
