The Mycenaean Trade Network
Mycenaeans were not self-sufficient, as raw materials for weapons and tools had to come from abroad. The height of their power and prosperity began after they surpassed the Minoans commercially in the Aegean. Textiles and metalwork were the two leading exports of the palace economy. Luxury items like high-quality painted pottery and jewelry competed well in international market.
