The History of API Development

Ebay launched its API in November of 2000. Amazon would follow behind in 2002, and it launched its own API as well asAmazon Web Services. In 2004, Flickr introduced its API that gave people the chance to embed their images on other platforms including web pages or social media. Twitter then introduced APIs in 2006 for third-party apps like Tweet deck which later became popular with readers.
