What Makes a Marketplace Business?
Mike DeBoey: "I just felt like I had to be the change I want to see in the world and just start doing it" He says Delta Airline is not a marketplace because they own the supply. There's no financial transaction, that's what disqualifies them from being called marketplaces. The definition of a marketplace involves connecting people who want something with those who can provide it. It also leads to a transaction between two parties; Airbnb at Sea DoorDash or Uberlift don't do this.
