How to Support Students Who Struggle With Reading in Your Small Groups

How do I support students who struggle with reading during my small groups? This is the second most popular question that I have gotten when it comes to small group instruction. Teachers in upper elementary usually aren't trained or provided support in terms of how to provide effective beginning reader instruction or intervention. So we're going to kind of approach this question from two different angles. We need to go back and remind ourselves about how students can learn to read before supporting them.
