The Importance of Entrepreneurship in Biotech
At the tail end of his PhD or throughout my PhD, I was doing what I loved, which was science. But at the same time, I started to feel like I was working on a very small and narrow field of science that was not going to have that much impact. That's when I realized that I needed to figure out how to continue to do science but also maximize its impact. And so I ended up working in a company that was a flagship company by the name of Helikos Biosciences. It was a great learning ground training ground for bio entrepreneurship, if you will.
