Why Didn't Plato's Theory Make a Comeback?
Theory that the human psyche is composed of separate and conflicting forces seems to have been hard to swallow for many cultures throughout history. The id corresponds broadly to the ompeditive part, the ego,. to the rational element and the super ego to the thumos. So how could plato have come up with a similar theory? We can't know for sure, of course, but i think it's fun to speculate. And there are some interesting clues in the myth of calapans which states that they each an admixture of four metals - gold, silver, bronze and iron.
