We would put someone in jail for what abraham does up there on that mountain. There's no question about it. But take religion away and we're left with a tale of deceit, if not outright lies at the start. Abraham makes him carry his own wood for his own sacrifice. He ties him up on top of the wood. Is at this point, has to know what's happening to him. Our moral and ethical consensus on this is quite clear. You don't do this to kids. And even abraham would agree.
